- Supreme Court has appointed Justice Jawad Rahim as Acting Chairman of National Green Tribunal.
- He has been appointed for this Post after three months of the retirement of the Previous Chairman.
- Justice Swatanter Kumar was the Previous Chairman of National Green Tribunal.
- He was the Judge of Supreme Court.
- He retired in December 2017.
- This Post was lying vacant for three months after his retirement.
- Justice Jawad Rahim is the former Judge of Karnataka High Court.
- Currently, he is the Judicial Member of NGT.
- NGT Stands for National Green Tribunal.
First National Conclave on Psychological Trauma and Mental Illnesses held in New Delhi
- First National Conclave on Psychological Trauma and Mental Illnesses held in New Delhi.
- This National Conclave was organised by the Ministry of Women and Child Development with the collaboration of Department of Psychiatry.
- This National Conclave was inaugurated by Dr Virendra Kumar.
- Dr Virendra Kumar is the Minister of State for Women and Child Development.
- This was the first ever National Conclave on Psychological Trauma, Child Protection and Mental Illness.
Madhya Pradesh has the highest number of Tribal Habitations
- Madhya Pradesh has the highest number of Tribal Habitations in the Country.
- Total 55770 Tribal Habitations are surviving in Madhya Pradesh.
- Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation has informed this number of Tribal Habitations.
- This information was released under the Scheme of ‘National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP).
- All these Tribal Habitations are fully covered by Drinking Water supply in the country.
- Odisha has been followed by Madhya Pradesh with the total number of 52427.
- Jharkhand has 53476 habitations in the State.
CCEA approves Integrated Scheme on School Education
- Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved new Integrated Scheme on School Education.
- This Scheme is for a period of two years from 2018-2020.
- This Scheme has been formulated by the Department of School Education and Literacy.
- This Scheme will provide education loans to 10 lakh students.
- The total budget of Rs. 75,000 crore has been estimated over this Scheme.
- The main aim of this Scheme is to give quality and equal education to all the students from nursery to senior secondary.
- This Scheme will mainly focus on two T’S-.
- Two T’S are- Teacher and Technology.
Government allows Export of two Million Tonnes of Sugar till the end of 2018 Marketing Year
- The government has allowed to Export two Million Tonnes of Sugar until the end of 2018 Marketing Year.
- The government has also allowed the export of white sugar till September 2018.
- This decision was made under the Duty-Free Import Authorisation (DFIA) scheme.
- DFIA stands for Duty-Free Import Authorisation.
- The government has allowed the exporters to import sugar at zero duty within two years.
- The main aim of this export is to clear surplus stocks and to improve the cash flow of millers for making payment to sugarcane farmers.
