1. India, Vietnam Inks Three MoUs
i. India and Vietnam inked three agreements in the areas of trade, agriculture and atomic energy. The countries signed an MoU on economic and trade cooperation to establish a framework for enhancing economic and trade promotion.
ii. Another MoU signed on Cooperation between the Global Centre for Nuclear Energy Partnership, India (GCNEP) and the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute (VINATOM) to strengthen the technical cooperation in the field of atomic energy for peaceful purposes.

2. India, Vietnam calls upon all nations to adopt comprehensive approach in combating terrorism
i. India and Vietnam unequivocally condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, including cross-border terrorism.
ii. In a joint statement issued after the talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang in New Delhi, both leaders have called upon all nations to adopt a comprehensive approach in combating terrorism, includecountering radicalisation, recruitment, training and movement of foreign terrorist fighters and blocking sources of financing terrorism.
3. Odisha govt launches ‘Ama Gaon, Ama Vikas’ programme
i. The Odisha government has launched a programme Ama Gaon, Ama Vikas (Our Village, our development) to reach out to the people in rural areas and involve themselves in the developmental activities.
ii. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has flagged off mobile video vans for ‘Ama Gaon Ama Vikas’ programme that will move across the State to highlight various welfare schemes at villages in the state.
4. Conrad Sangma to be Next Meghalaya CM
i. National People’s Party (NPP) President Conrad Sangma will be the new chief minister of Meghalaya. There would be no deputy chief minister for the state.
ii. He will replace Mukul Sangma.
- Conrad Sangma is currently Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha from Tura Parliamentary constituency.
- Meghalaya Capital- Shillong, Governor- Ganga Prasad.
5. Shigmotsav 2018 Celebrated in Goa
i. Shigmotsav has been organized enthusiastically in Goa. Shigmotsav or Shigmo is one of the several cultural festivals of the coastal state and is celebrated through colours, costumes, music, dance and parades.
ii. Shigmo parades offer glimpses of Goan life depicted through folk dance and music performances by locals.
