1. Important Cabinet Approvals- 27th June 2018
i. The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the following set of approvals. The important Cabinet Approvals are given as follows-

MoU between India and Singapore on Cooperation in the field of Planning- The objective of the MOU is to facilitate government agencies in the Centre and States, including Municipal Bodies, to readily tap into the expertise of Singapore agencies in the areas of urban development and management and other areas, and thus help in urban rejuvenation, mission.
2. Agreement between India and Denmark on Cooperation in the field of Science, Technology and Innovation- The objective of the Agreement is to encourage, develop and facilitate cooperation between India and Denmark in fields of common interest within Science, Technology and Innovation.

2. Sanitation Action Plans Prepared For 10 New Swachh Iconic Places
i. Ten new Swachh Iconic Places of the country came up with the thorough action plans for raising their sanitation standards to exemplary levels. The plans were formulated at a two-day consultation in Hyderabad held between Central and State Government agencies, local administrations and the Trusts of the iconic places.
ii. All the 30 Swachh Iconic Places, selected so far under the Swachh Bharat Mission, also resolved to make their sites completely free of plastic.
iii. These 10 sites constitute Phase-III of the Swachh Iconic Places (SIP):
3. President Inaugurates Udyam Sangam-2018 To Mark UN SME Day
i. President of India, Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the Udyam Sangam-2018 in New Delhi. It is a step forward towards consolidating the convergence and synergy of all the government initiatives relating to MSME Sector. The President of India launched the Solar Charkha Mission which will cover 50 clusters and every cluster will employ 400 to 2000 artisans.
ii. The Mission has been approved by the Government of India for which the MSME Ministry will disburse subsidy of Rs. 550 crores to the artisans. A portal of the Ministry of MSME called “Sampark” was also unveiled by the President.

- The UN General Assembly in its 74th Plenary held on the 6th April 2017 declared 27th June as Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Day.
4. US Ambassador To UN Nikki Haley Visits India
i. The US Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley is in India for the 2-day visit. During her two-day visit, Haley will meet with senior Indian government officials, NGO leaders, and the interfaith community to underscore the United States’ shared values and strong alliance with the people of India.
ii. Haley, the daughter of Sikh immigrants from Punjab, is the first Indian-American to serve in a Cabinet-level position in any US presidential administration.

5. Centre Releases Rs 340 crore for Flood Relief in Assam
i. Centre has released 340 crore rupees for flood relief work in Assam. Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Jitendra Singh announced this after holding a high-level meeting in Guwahati with the State Government to assess the current situation of flood and the relief measures undertaken so far.
ii. 101 crore rupees was released by the DoNER, while the remaining 239 crore rupees was given by the Home Ministry under the State Disaster Relief Fund.
